We are proudly a New Zealand-owned and operated company based in Rotorua. We opened our first bakery and food processing plant in 1971, and we’ve been producing New Zealand’s No.1 selling frozen sausage rolls ever since. We also produce a range of pastry products and offer 3rd party manufacturing to other businesses.
As a family-owned business, our mission has always been simple: to continue to make NZ’s favourite sausage rolls. And we are proud to say, we have been doing so for over 50 years.
Why would anyone want to make their own? Open a pack of ours, and pop them in the oven. After all, our sausage rolls were the ones that Alison Holst recommended (still does actually), with deliciousness and nostalgia baked into every bite. Imagine yourself now, biting into that golden pastry crust, and the hot savoury filling within. The aroma wafts through the house, triggering memories of cosy gatherings and carefree times. Those flaky layers, delicately cradling the seasoned sausage, transporting you back to many fun occasions.
Of course, back in the day, they were called New Way, not Richmond Foods, but the recipe remains the same. And in a world that’s always moving and modernising, it is reassuring to know our sausage rolls are still NZ’s fave.
Social media is about things trending, and our sausage rolls have been trending for over 50 years. At baby showers, work functions, Christmas parties, and of course, all the birthday parties, our sausage rolls are the heart of these special occasions.
